I'm planning to go on a hiatus until the Mid Years are over.

Because I simply CANNOT concentrate once my mac is on.

My hands are suffering from aches. Yes, my hands, the one with the fingers. It freaking hurts when I write. D:

So yeah, I might not be posting anymore until after the 6th of May.

So.. Band meeting today.

We were all kinda expecting the explanation of why we got a silver, but they didn't reveal anything about that. We spent the whole afternoon sitting there and watching the whole band comp show, with the exception of Yusof Ishak and Springfield.

Well anyway, I believe that a lot of you must have heard about the issue of our band getting 86 and in the end got deducted 10% of the marks because of the tracks. According to the teachers, that was complete bullshit, since CCAB refuses to release the marks over their dead bodies. I have no idea where that number came from or who started it in the first place, but from what I infer, it could be someone making a guess about why we lost out badly. And you know rumours, people add random shit into it and it comes out as a totally different statement.

Sir mentioned that the judges said we were a high silver, but really, who cares? It's still a silver, and we are brandished with the name as a silver band for the next 2 years to come, until we have the chance to prove ourselves worthy.

Personally I feel that this year's band comp is rather...subjective. Not to be discriminating or anything, but as we all know there have been some changes to the panel of judges, and most of them are caucasians. They are more accustomed to the DCI style of marching bands like DMB or maybe TK. I'm not trying to say that they are biased or whatsoever, but that they do not appreciate our local flavour-filled show, and hence rated us low because they simply do not understand what we were trying to convey. However, from my understanding, there are Singaporeans amongst the judges, and I don't see why they cannot explain our theme to the foreigners. That's just the thing that makes me upset.

Bah. I cannot deny the fact that though I accept whatever results we get, I am still unhappy about the silver medal, because it affects me so.

Please don't tell me "Process is more important than the colour of the medal."

I get that point very well, but its exactly why it makes me upset because all our efforts seem to be flushed down the drain just like that by a silver medal. It's like a huge smack on the face.

We know that we did a good job, but do the people outside know? It's human nature to judge a book by its cover, and I'm sure we will not be highly looked upon. I'm not trying to be a wet blanket, but that's the truth. Life isn't fair.

I'm trying to prove a point here, but I don't know if I'm making any sense at all. =/

No, it's a silver.

We went there with utmost confidence, and went back with utmost dignity. We will not back down and cry for the sake of crying. We cry for everyone's effort and hard work, every single one of us. Naturally, I cannot help but feel sad after winning a silver, afterall, we did do a fantastic job. What the judges didn't like about us, we will find out on monday.

"Pain is temporary, glory is forever."

But I'm sorry for not bringing back the glory, BP. I really feel like we let you down.

Even though we have failed to achieve your expectations, you guys still cheered and applauded for us, and I played my heart out for you until the very end. So thanks, from the bottom of my heart. :D

To all the band members who might or might not be reading this, what is done has been done. We will move on, but we shall not forget. We shall not forget all the times we spent together, be it training hard or just having fun. The 5 months we have endured together, though seemingly short, but it has changed all of us, brought friends together, and fostered closer relationships. We've been through thick and thin together, so let's not stop now. I hope that all the juniors will not be discouraged, this is just the beginning for you guys.

Strike back in 2010, make us proud.

To the alumni, thanks for coming back and giving us all the support you can. Even though you were consoling us and asking us not to cry, I can see the tears in your eyes. A big thank you to you!

Music lesson today was damn slack.

I got my hands on a black 6-string from their music room and had fun meddling with it. While later on the peeps got to the piano and went all pervertly pro on it.

Like seriously, I feel so inferior with them can.

Hazel(the one from KRANJI) can sightread like... perfectly. Her sightreading is god. GOD, I TELL YOU! Just throw her any piece of music and she can play it instantly. Literally.
So yeah, she's our new source of entertainment. 8D

Today is ZY's birthday and I stayed up till like 2am to finish her present.

It's not really well done because I was short of decorating materials. D: and also because it's really last minute.

It's sealed in a plastic film so that it doesn't crumple or anything; because it's really fragile. Haha.

There's exactly one more week to Band Comp!

Seven days, 3-4 more practices.

I can't deny that I'm really excited. All this hard work and effort put in by each and everyone of us; I really hope it doesn't get wasted. Though the performance during sports day was like shit, I think we have improved a lot, within a day's practice. Time will go by very fast, and then soon the sec 4s will have to step down for their N/O levels.

Yes we will be kicking some arse on April 12th. ;D
